Film Editing

I have edited my Preliminary Film and my opening 2 minutes using software called Sony Vegas. When I first opened the program I watched the essential tutorial videos which gave me the basic editing techniques. I then practiced on it during free periods and lunch times with other footage I have. I also spent time using the software at a friends house who had downloaded the program. After importing all the footage, it was clear that it would last longer than 2 minutes, therefore, I had to use skills such as clipping and adding the appropriate clips in the right places on the timeline. I rarely had problems with the program and if I didn't know how to do something, the tutorials were extremely helpful and easy to use. The fact that the tutorials were interactive and allowed you to join in with the teaching, made it more memorable during the learning process. I have enjoyed learning how to add effects such as fades which makes my film flow a lot nicer than just each scene jumping from one to the next. I will be adding the finishing touches to my film and uploading the 2 minutes plus the Preliminary Film during the week.
